Portrait Fundraising Ideas and Tips

How to Make Your Fundraiser a Success

Below are ideas for to conduct the most successful fundraiser possible for your organization. Following these tips will ensure that you and your group are as organized and efficient as possible in selling certificates, scheduling photography dates, and making sure all families obide by the rules of conduct.

  • Keep weekly totals of how many certificates you have sold, how much money you have collected, and the amount of certificates each volunteer has sold. This ensures that your organization has received all profits from certificates and that your group recognizes who will be receiving free portrait packages.
  • Make sure you have two coordinators: a head coordinator and an assistant coordinator, that are both aware of how many certificates have been sold, how long your organization has until its photography session. There will be no confusion then, if the head coordinator is not able to be reached regarding questions or concerns, and matters can be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Get everyone to commit to sell at least five certificates. This will not only secure your photography date, but will allow you to earn much more in bonuses.
  • Make sure everyone knows how to earn their portrait package free (selling ten or more certificates), saving them up to hundreds of dollars. This is an important incentive that can dramatically increase your certificate sales.
  • Remind members of your group when and where your photography session is. A meeting or bulletin announcement at least a week before the given date is a very successful way to make sure your group members remember when they are being photographed. This ensures that the most people will show up to be photographed and helps your organization earn the highest bonus it can achieve.
  • Collect ticket stubs and money from certificates on a weekly basis.Organization is key in conducting any fundraiser, and collecting profits and ticket stubs weekly is a good way to keep track of how many certificates are being sold and how much your group can potentially sell. It also gives your group an idea of when enough certificates will be sold and when your photography date will be secured.
